Hand Embroidery Artisan - Different Types of Shawl Embroidery

Demonstration of different embroidery

Objectives: At the end of this exercise you shall be able to
• practice primary work
• practice double sozni yakroi
• practice tehreerkari (secondary work)
• practice thouthkaar.

Requirements

Materials
• Cloth/ Shawl - as reqd. • Thimble - as reqd.
• Needle - as reqd. • Thread - as reqd.

PROCEDURE

TASK 1: Practice sozni embroidery

Primary work: Starting primary work Fig 1
1 Insert the needle from center to edge of the flower
2 Than insert it from edge of the flower to centre and
so on.
3 Primary work can be completed by the dot stitch.
(Fig 1)

TASK 2: Practice secondary work
1 Insert the needle at any point and complete it by back 3 Completing secondary work. (Fig 2)
stitch (pann dunn in local language).

2 Complete the design with embroidering it completely.
